Expat Couples and Family Counselling
Being a family between the worlds
Worum geht's?
Christoph Goldstein is a Systemic Family Therapist (DGSF curriculum, member of the European Family Therapy Association) and has been working as a freelance counsellor and therapist for couples and parents. He himself lived abroad with his young children for three years, being the main care giver when he accompanied his partner in the diplomatic service. Living relationships at eye level and equal rights in parenthood, in all the different approaches, create strength and balance for the journey through life - courage is rewarded, again and again! About Expat Couples Counselling: Being abroad can be a rewarding experience, opening horizons and letting one grow in many aspects. At the same time, it involves a lot of adjustment stress: familiar networks are no longer around, places to relax and recharge and routines have to be found again, and finding orientation in the new environment involves a lot of effort. Different expectations and strategies for dealing with the stressful situation in partnership and family can add to the pressure. Working together specifically on developing new routines, identifying new places to recharge and relax, building new networks - and perhaps talking out what is so incredibly nerve-racking about the new environment - can help to reduce the stress. To focusing again on what is enriching and exciting about living abroad. https://www.christophgoldstein.de/en-gb/expat-family-counselling
